about

The Red EP from the Cakekitchen's new 4 EP set, Winter of Discontent.

***

After quite a few months of planning we are proud to present, “Winter of Discontent”, the new Cakekitchen 4 EP CD set. We wanted to do something slightly different for a change and decided to present four different sets of songs together as a package. Clocking in at over 90 minutes, each EP is a different colour and contains five or six songs each.

This means that there is no side one or side two etc to the set and that each EP has an equal placing in the order of things. We hope this will make your listening pleasure somehow more interactive and we suggest that you consciously vary the order that you play the discs in and not always play all of them at once. Sometimes only play one or two of them at a time.

Winter of Discontent is housed in a luxurious handsome 6 panel colour cardboard gatefold sleeve, the packaging features breath taking photos by Sasha Bogdan from the 20,000 strong Russian protest march against the shocking assassination of the leader of the opposition “Boris Nemstov” on a bridge outside the Kremlin. The CD release is a limited private pressing run of only 200 copies, so you will have to be in quick.
